Arryn Carrington, the Earl of Merryfield, is obsessive about truth and honesty. It’s an obsession that has just led to him being sent down from Oxford, which has put his father, the Marquess of Westerhazy, in a rather difficult position. Arryn has vowed to put things right, somehow, but when his father suggests that finding a young woman to marry would be a good start, Arryn flinches from the very idea. He has never met a woman with a true thought in her head - until he is introduced to Lady Violet Gardenbrook, whose every utterance upends his view of the world.
Lady Violet Gardenbrook values books and study above all else – and the thought that a man, who has the privilege to study at Oxford would do something to get himself sent down horrifies her. A man who would do such a thing is obviously irredeemable. Why then, does she find herself steadily more intrigued by Lord Merryfield?
When Lady Violet accidentally overhears a very private conversation, she becomes embroiled in a treasonous plot which threatens Lord Merryfield and his family, unbeknownst to him.
Can Lady Violet discover enough for the plot to be foiled?
Can Arryn uncover the truth of the threat, before his sister is ruined?
And, when an impetuous act puts Lady Violet in terrible danger, will he reach her in time to save her?
Through all of it, will they each find the courage to move past their prejudices, and admit the love they feel, or will everything they have every hoped for be lost?

[Arietta Richmond] ☆ An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6) [ Book] PDF ☆ Read Online eBook or Kindle ePUB
I loved reading this book. It was engaging and unpredictable. The main characters were well rounded and realistic. Violet and Arryn were quite the match even though Violet did not get on with Arryn in the beginning. Violet was a bluestocking and had a wide interest including the going on of the Parliamentary proceedings on paper versus coin. Arryn is a fastidious and singular minded man when it came to right and wrong. He would always stand up for what was right, factual and true. As Violet stumbled upon a counterfeiting scheme that terrified her. At the same time Arryn's family name was being dragged through the mud because of his father and his desire to show Parliament how easy it was to counterfeit paper money. The treasonous men behind the counterfeiting scheme were becoming desperate. Arryn, his father and sister as well as Violet were in danger. An excellent story not to be missed. I highly recommend it.KINDLE UNLIMITED
An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6) Lady Violet Gardenbrook is the daughter of a Duke. She has six sisters and a brother. Her Father has never stopped his girls from doing things most young ladies are allowed. Being able to learn whatever they want as long as they don't let anyone know. Because of this Violet has made great use of their very large library. She is highly intelligent and keeps up with the current events taking place in parliamentary. Unheard of for a woman. When she hears that Lord Westerhazy's son had been sent down from Oxford she is outraged. Feeling that men have all the advantages and misuse them. A woman would never be able to go to college. Most have no interest in anything but dresses, balls, and who they will marry.. Ugh..
Arryn Carrington, Earl of Merryfield dreads facing his father. He has been sent home from Oxford. He believes to tell the true no matter what. Now he has hurt his father's efforts in parliamentary on the forgery bills.
In order to hush some of the rumors his father makes him attend the balls and events of the ton. Oh, how he hates meeting and dances with hairbrained females that never have anything to say.
At one of balls, he meets the sister of a friend of this, Violet Gardenbrook. There is something about her that seems off.
Even as she speaks and dances, he feels it is all an act. She is very beautiful and he finds himself thinking about her.
Arryn knows something is very different when he keeps running into her. At the same time Violet is having hard time believing the rumors about him.
There is a lot of intrigue and secrets in this story. Also, a lot of history about the laws and problems with forgery in England. I found at times that the history somewhat took over for the story itself. The two are very interweaved together. Both Arryn and Violet get caught up in a web that neither suspected. How will all this drama end out,
Well, you will have to get a copy to see who wins. There are blackmailers, spies, kidnappers, on top of the romance
and attraction growing between our two bookworms.
This book had a slow start but builds up fast. It has twist and turn, a lot of wit and surprise too.
I received and ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it. An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6) Lady Violet Gardenbrook loves learning. She speaks five languages and reads all the time. She and her sisters are encouraged by their parents to spend time gaining knowledge, whether they are male or female. When she hears about Lord Merryfield being sent down. She can't believe he would waste the time and money to go to school in the first place. She would gladly take his place.
Arryn Carrington, Earl of Merryfield had all kinds of rumors flying about him being sent down. He was a scoundrel, a rake, rude and on it went from there. His father knew he was not that way but someone was trying to ruin his reputation. His father was head of a committee against forgery, and it could be any reason for the verbal attack.
Watching them get to know each other is fun. He keeps telling himself she is just like all those other girls of the ton and then she does something completely different, surprising him. It is a delightful tale and it keeps you interested and vested in what happens. The author did a great job with the novel and keeping it at a smooth and even pace. It was exciting with anxious moments and a carriage chase. I highly recommend this wonderful book.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it. An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6) A lovely and sweet regency. I liked learning about this time. The forgeries, and the thread of suspense that was woven in. It was enjoyable to watch these two come together and re-work their assumptions.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6) This latest Elbury Bouquet story features Violet, the linguistic, scholarly sister and Lord Merryfield, the equally scholarly student who with his father become involved in a mystery and potential scandal. Like many of the other Elbury sisters, Violet is just as curious and inquiring as her siblings, and while the story unfolds with some typical tropes and adventures, the love story unfolds in a unique way as they stumble toward the inevitable HEA.
Also features the return of Baron Setford (spymaster), so while readable as a standalone, it's more fun if you're familiar with the family and broader set of characters, though it does not need to be read in order.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review. An Enchantress for an Earl: Violet (A Duke's DaughtersThe Elbury Bouquet #6)
